I should have read the end date more closely or I would have asked before ;)

NO big issue over that "lost" lot ;)

I hope there will other nice lots coming up.

I am also not sure which of those thread about the funding is now the "official" one - there seem to be 2...

:bowty: I believe this is the thread for comments and such RMV. The one in the trade section is for the bidding. Dano may correct me if I'm wrong.

Dear Mr. Loco,

thank you for choosing the "Brixia Mortar" coupon. As you know by now, the coupon NOT only includes a Brixia Mortar from my collection, BUT you have the option of taking the "second place" prize. As the story goes...as the allies invaded Italy and the Russians were closing in on Berlin, the axis forces needed a "secret weapon". Information was and will always be the key to winning the battle. 70 years later...some information has been found relating to these "secret weapons" used in the Italian and German battles.

One of the MOST best kept secrets of WWII was the Italian "URBAN" Spotter. This person was so well camouflaged, it took 70 YEARS to lapse before finding the first piece of actual evidence that even existed. When workers were order to dismantle a WWII Italian Church on a hill, they found the first piece of evidence within the walls of the church. After an investigation of the area, they found an old Italian WWII uniform, bones, and one other item. The life expectancy to this soldier was very short. They determined how the procedure was accomplished, but again...with a very short life expectancy. This "position" was later mastered by the Germans with a slight improvement.

Without further delay... I present the "URBAN ITALIAN SPOTTER"!

(I'll wait til Loco reads this first part- then post the pixs)

this method of "urban camouflage" is still used around the world, and recently in the movie... The Pink Panther with Steve Martin.

The Italian Urban Spotter was actually built into the wall with an "exit" door. some times the spotter was NOT able to turn around and open the door to exit. several Spotters were found years later...
